Linda Niles, a native Montrealer, has been a versatile mainstay on the Montreal music scene ever since she appeared with The Montreal Black Community Youth Choir (later known as The Jubilation Choir). While still in high school, she was the featured soloist on two albums with the choir. Since then, she has continued to record, singing background vocals on many albums by noted Canadian artists, often touring with their live shows and accompanying them on TV appearances. (See resume) All the while, Linda has developed her solo career by singing jazz with her own trio, and singing R&B and Top 40 with various other bands. Linda has also taught voice and piano, (having had ten years of piano instruction with Daisy Sweeney) and has conducted a gospel choir. Jazz
is
definitely Linda's first love. So, it comes as no surprise that these
days, she has been concentrating on her jazz duo and trio work. When
at home, Linda Niles can be seen appearing with The Greg
Clayton Trio at Montreal's Modave, Kaisan, and also at The House of
Jazz. |
